Woman 'tricked into sex' by penis cream treatment

A Syrian-born airline pilot tricked a woman into having sex with him by saying intercourse could cure an infection


Fadi Sbano, 38, faces allegations of rape by deception over his relationship with the teacher from Pembrokeshire.

Huw Rees, prosecuting, told a jury at Swansea Crown Court that the pair met in 2000 while Mr Sbano was based at Gatwick and the woman was working at a school in Surrey.

Then he started playing tricks on her, Mr Rees said, by telling her he had stomach cancer and had just six months to live.

When she developed an infection, Mr Sbano told the woman he knew a gynaecologist who recommended a cream be applied through intercourse, the jury heard.

Mr Rees said the woman found the sessions "clinical"

Mr Sbano continued to deceive the woman and persuaded her the cream was expensive, the court heard, so she gave him £400 and her mother handed over £5,500.

Mr Sbano also told both women he had to go to the United States for cancer treatment and the alleged victim's mother gave him a further £1,500, the jury heard.

Arab who posed as a Jew jailed for rape

JERUSALEM, July 22 (UPI) -- A 30-year-old Arab man convicted of rape by deception is considering an appeal to Israel's High Court of Justice, his lawyer says.

Sabbar Kashur had consensual sex with a woman after he posed as a Jewish bachelor interested in a long-term romantic relationship, Haaretz reported Thursday.

When the woman learned Kashur was an Arab she filed a police report that led to charges of rape and indecent assault.

Kashur was convicted and sentenced to 18 months in prison after being under house arrest for nearly two years.

Men who misrepresented themselves were charged with fraud until 2008 when a ruling by Israel's High Court of Justice established rape by deception.

Elkana Laist of the Public Defender's office said the lower court went too far in applying the 2008 ruling to Kashur's case.

Kashur is married and the father of two children.
